If 2 weddings isn't enough, add just one more. My new friend at work, Cathy just got engaged to her long time bf Vernon. Congratulations to them! Well--in search of a caterer, she stumbled upon this gem in Eagle Rock and asked me to try it and let her know how it was. So, in the interest of friendship---I took Joe out there to good ol' Eagle Rock or Etown as he would call it, for some down home country cookin.

We headed west friday morning--for Auntie Em's kitchen. Nestled between a used car lot and some small businesses, there sits this diamond in the rough. Auntie Em's is a small eatery, with BIG taste!
We weren't expecting a crowd in such a small place, but there was. Outside seating was bare, because it was unusually cold in sunny southern California. We sat outside, and ordered....

I had the Orange-Honey French Toast with a Rasberry Lemonade and Joe had the Open faced egg and bacon sandwich with gruyere cheese...and the verdict?...

FANTASTIC! My french toast came with 3 well fried pieces of toast with tons of berries...(strawberries, blue berries and black berries) dusted with powdered sugar. Absolutely fantastic! It was absolutely the best french toast i'd ever had! MMMMMM! Joe's sandwich looked very good as well, but I couldn't have any because it had bacon in it. (i gave up meat for lent.) After such a big breakfast, and high hopes to have dessert, we opted for 2 super thin chocolate chip cookies....also very very good! Needless to say, the video pretty much sums up his review of this place....I would come back here in a heartbeat and recommend this place to anyone!
